Arm and Leg Pain in Marietta

Chiropractic care is a profession dedicated to the non-surgical treatment of disorders of the nervous system or musculoskeletal system.  If you are having pain in your arms or legs in Marietta, you have an important resource in Dr. Trent Brumbaugh of Chiropractic Care of Marietta Square.  Arm or leg pain can originate from other nervous system or musculoskeletal issues.

Pain in the arms and legs are usually caused by overuse or injuries.  The actual cause of the pain can be difficult to self-diagnose other than where the patient feels pain or discomfort.  In many cases, pain may be felt at one location of the arm or leg but the actual cause or origin may be at another part of the body.

Pain from recent injuries or recurring injuries may be obvious to patients but injuries caused by repetitive motion at home or work may be less obvious to self diagnose.  Pains caused from repetitive motion can develop slowly making self diagnosis difficult.

For these reasons, an examination by an experienced and trained Chiropractor is necessary to identify the reason for the pain and the best treatment to reduce or eliminate the cause of the pain, including safe measures to reduce future occurrences.

Reasons for Arm or Leg Pain

There are a number of different reasons for arm or leg pain, including bursitis, arthritis and tendinitis.  Misalignment (subluxations) of the vertebrae in the neck and lower back are responsible for the vast majority of chronic pains that are a result of the misalignment causing nerve damage or discomfort.

Misalignment that causes nerve damage or discomfort in the arms or legs may originate in other areas of the body causing pain, numbness, tingling or soreness in the arms or legs, as a result.

Injuries to the spine or connective tissues can create the pain of the arms and legs or areas in between.  Pain associated with sciatica, originating in the hips or lower back, can cause pain in the buttocks, knees, ankles and the foot.  A trained Chiropractor can identify the origin and a treatment plan to correct the cause of the pain.

Chiropractic Treatment for Arm and Leg Pain

A thorough examination by a Chiropractor can identify the causes of your arm and leg pain.  Your Chiropractor will check for misalignment by examining the body or taking x-rays to identify the extent of an injury or pain.

The Chiropractor will also review your past medical history, the past medical history of your close relatives, a physical examination, x-rays, physical activity, injuries by slips, falls, accidents or sudden movements and recent activities to ascertain a comprehensive picture of your physical health.

Treatment plans for arm and leg pains may be as simple as corrective realignment of the spine or extremities or a mixture of realignment and strengthening exercises to prevent future injuries and pain.
